What is the severity of the lamp of 250 watts of heat into electricity?

I have a shed in my backyard that my house bomb water. I called the lamp with a bulb of 250 watts of heat in it to prevent freezing. It's serious electricity? I mean it's like running the dryer all day? Or as REFIGERATOR be connected and turned on, or a lamp plugged in and on any day. Can I use a normal light bulb to prevent freezing too? If so, What bulb are thawed? I feel is a stupid question, but I think that entitles me to Dominion Power now enough money to heat my house. Any information is appreciated. Thanks

Jim N is on the right, except that the price of electricity may be somewhat higher at 10 ¢ per kWh. Location - live in southern California Edison charges on a graduated scale, like IRS tax on a graduated scale. The more electricity they consume, the greater the fee for the progressive use. The highest rate for residential use is about 30 ¢ per kWh, which would be $ 1.80 per day for a lamp of 250 watts of heat. You have to look at your electric bill to see what their rate increases. In addition to using thermal tape or thermal blanket, another alternative is to leave a cold tap on to run slowly all day and night. This will keep your system so do not know if it would be cheaper. But there is something to consider if the heat lamp is extinguished. You must make a de compromise on the cost of heat lamp cost and inconvenience of having to repair a broken water pump. I am in favor of the heating lamp.

Discharge lamps, high intensity work wonderfully in hydroponic applications. Not only HID lamps produce light that mimics sunlight more closely than other light bulbs, but use less energy and in a way that prolongs the life of the lamps growth. Any type of HID light you choose to use for hydroponic gardening, which will have a lamp ballast. There are three main types of ballasts for lamps used in a hydroponic garden: magnetic ballasts, electronic and digital. Digital ballasts are over magnetic ballasts for several reasons.

A magnetic ballast is necessary to control the electric current flowing through the lamp HID. The ballast of both light and keeps the light on. If the electric current flowing through the bulb at full voltage, the lamp broke and control the factor that provides the ballast is necessary for the proper functioning of any HID light. A magnetic ballast is composed of one or more aluminum or copper coils sit a core consisting of steel plates. The coils and the main work in conjunction with a capacitor, and sometimes a flash. These four elements have been incorporated in Table ballast.

A ballast provides digital control of power as the magnetic ballast, but with the digital model of the flow is adjusted to optimal levels performance for each specific type and lamp power is possible through digital circuitry. Magnetic ballasts weigh more frequently than digital examination in a greenhouse, and also heated to digital units. Due to the more consistent application of electric current, the lamps last longer and work to a higher level using less energy with a digital ballast than they might with a magnetic ballast. With a digital ballast, the light produced is more consistent. Ballasts magnetic, especially as they age, become more noisy when operating, the cause of HID lamps flicker and also contribute to irregularities in the color of fire emerges. The digital units can also detect when the lamp is nearly depleted, and can switch off the device when not functioning optimally.

The specific type of ballast will depend on the power of HID lamps and the type you use. There are four types of HID lamps, including metal halide high pressure and that the low-pressure sodium and mercury vapor. Each offers advantages in terms of efficiency, lamp life, color stability brightness and want to consider depending on how you use the lamp with plants. The life stage of your plants will be a factor in the lamp that best suits the needs of your plants.
